Strawflower seedlings - silvery rose (6)
*Each purchase is for six seedlings (plugs.) These seedlings are ready to be planted this week.*
Strawflower, also know as Helichrysum, is one of my favorite supporting flower to add to bouquets. They have a papery texture and are absolutely adorable. This plant thrives in the heat of summer and will bloom in summer and into fall. It’s a cut and come again flower, meaning you can cut it multiple times and it will continue to bloom. Also, it is a hardy annual, meaning they can survive in cooler weather but aren’t reliably going to perennialize.
Planting tips: Plant them 9” apart. (These plants will grow out to four feet tall.)
Pinch: When the plants are 12”, it’s recommended that you pinch them (cut them) down to three or four sets of leaves to encourage branching.
Harvesting tips: Harvest the flower when the bloom is either open or has a bellybutton.
